Vinise is an Associate with the SecondMuse Singapore team where they are working on The Incubation Network project to prevent ocean plastic pollution in South and Southeast Asia. She is part of the marketing communications team, helps with the incubation of waste management ventures, and the building of supportive and gender-inclusive ecosystems for innovation.
She strongly believes that the power of awareness and our voice can be instrumental in behavioural change and that is why she is working to build The Incubation Network’s brand and communications. In addition, she also believes that the value of People-first Public-Private-Partnerships as a means for ensuring sustainable, ethical and community-building economic development, can change the world.
One of the biggest reasons for Vinise to want to mitigate the climate crisis is to help improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable people around the world. It is estimated that 11% of the world’s population is vulnerable to climate change impacts such as droughts, floods, heatwaves, extreme weather events and sea-level rise. Many of these people are living in the poorest countries in the world, with little capacity to cope with these changes or recover.
Although these are often reported in countrywide statistics, every instance of this happening is a human tragedy, limiting the ability of that person to live a complete life. A long-time passion of Vinise has been advocating and protecting women’s rights where she has learnt that this will only come with climate justice.
