Eric Barker is the Senior Communications Associate at SecondMuse, based in Singapore. His job is to advise on and implement communication strategy and output for The Incubation Network and our projects in South and Southeast Asia. This includes defining the communication objectives for The Incubation Network, the audiences that we communicate with, and map that into a strategy going forward.
Eric has worked in social enterprise, impact investing, nonprofits, and has helped fundraise over $1M USD total for a purpose-driven organization. He finds fulfilment in unlocking doors to the change people want to build in the world, and for themselves.
Eric is also a scuba diver, PADI Rescue certified, so he experienced first-hand what plastic does to the marine environment. He also spent 4 years working as a digital marketing consultant. The coalescence of these three things brought him to the work of The Incubation Network and SecondMuse. He wants all plastic out of the ocean and wants to build communities around it and tell their stories.
Eric is half Khmer, and half Anglo-Australian. Elevating people who weren’t born with what he has is part of drives him to do his work. Eric enjoys playing music, this one time, he opened for Katy Perry with his band.
