Sharmeen is a Communications Manager at SecondMuse San Francisco, where she creates and fosters cohesive narratives and deep relationships across a portfolio of programs. Much of her work is centered on finding and honing story arcs that fully convey SecondMuse’s impact in building resilient future economies. Since joining SecondMuse she has worked on Headstream: Innovation for Youth Wellbeing and Food Vision 2050.
Sharmeen strongly believes in the power of empathetic, human-centered storytelling and its ability to create lasting change. Prior to SecondMuse she worked as a Program Coordinator at IDEO.org, a non-profit which designs products, services, and experiences to improve the lives of people in vulnerable communities. She has also worked with La Cocina, an incubator kitchen, to identify and remove barriers to entry for low-income immigrant women in the restaurant industry. Her experiences across a number of social impact organizations both domestic and international have shaped her local yet global perspective.
When she’s not at work, Sharmeen can be found scouting out new cafes, cooking dinner with friends, attempting to read forty books a year, and working on her passion project, joinourhome.com.
