Sea of Solutions 2024 Knowledge Session 2

Plastic pollution remains to be one of the most pressing environmental challenges worldwide. According to UNEP, every year 19-23 million tonnes of plastic waste leaks into aquatic ecosystems, polluting lakes, rivers and seas.

Despite efforts to reduce single-use plastics, countries in the Southeast Asia region still struggle to manage plastic waste effectively due to limited infrastructure, insufficient recycling systems, and a lack of scalable solutions. Reuse systems offer a promising alternative, allowing products to be repackaged, refilled and reuse, dramatically cutting down plastic waste generation.

Join us at the SEA of Solutions 2024 hybrid event on September 18, 2024 for an insightful session on the potential use of reuse systems to reduce plastic waste.

Together with expert speakers including Soon Sing-Suen, Program Manager at SecondMuse, Kasia Weina, Director & Founding Partner at Evergreen Labs, and Darina Maulana, Zero Waste Living Lab Program Indonesia Lead at Enviu, the session will provide actional recommendations and practical examples of how we can overcome key challenges in scaling reuse and refill solutions across Southeast Asia.
