CEO Todd Khozein explores how New York City has evolved into a thriving hub for climate tech innovation, offering valuable insights into the city's transformation and the role of key stakeholders and organizations like SecondMuse.

In 2017, New York City faced challenges in fostering climate tech innovation due to high real estate costs, but by 2023, it had become a thriving hub for climate startups, attracting $664 million in funding and creating over 133,000 jobs. SecondMuse is one of the many organizations that has taken part in transforming the city into a thriving climate tech hub through initiatives like Scale For ClimateTech, an innovation acceleration program that provides immersive training on manufacturing for growth-stage companies working in climate solutions.

This collaborative ecosystem of entrepreneurs, incubators, and policymakers has established New York as a leading hub for climate tech innovation, with a focus on providing resources and space to scale sustainable solutions. The lessons learned from New York’s model can guide the creation of similar climate innovation centers worldwide, fostering solutions tailored to local needs while contributing to global climate goals.
