The 2024 Headstream Accelerator is supporting innovators, like Roy Scott from Healthy Hip Hop, to scale their digital mental well-being solutions.
Headstream, an initiative by SecondMuse dedicated to improving youth mental well-being, recently launched its 2024 Accelerator. This four-month program brings together 14 startups, supporting CEOs, founders, and entrepreneurs in co-creating digital health solutions with youth and exploring innovative funding opportunities. The program fosters inclusivity by providing a platform where innovators from diverse backgrounds can collaboratively scale equity-driven digital health and education technology products that positively impact BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and multi-hyphenate individuals.
One of the 14 selected is Healthy Hip Hop, an Atlanta-based startup that combines the power of hip-hop with technology and education to enhance student learning environments. Founded by Roy Scott, the company has integrated with 300 schools and 11,000 students, teachers and parents to create a healthier experience with music for youth, while promoting positive experiences and values.
“This is a whole new world and understanding how kids are using digital is not about vilifying it, but understanding that this is the new reality so how do we meet them where they are and how do we create safe spaces for kids to interact through music and movement,” shared Scott.
