To help address the growing need for mental health support in schools, Headstream, an innovation program by SecondMuse, has launched the K-12 Mental Health Tech Navigator, a new resource designed to guide educators in selecting and implementing digital tools to enhance student mental well-being.
Headstream, an innovation program by SecondMuse, launched the K-12 Mental Health Tech Navigator to support school districts in selecting and implementing digital tools that enhance student mental well-being. Developed in collaboration with The Jed Foundation and The Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute, this free, web-based resource helps educational leaders address the growing demand for mental health solutions. The Navigator provides a roadmap with key recommendations, case studies and even funding guidance.
As student mental well-being needs continue to rise, this tool encourages educators to make informed decisions about digital solutions that can address the unique needs of students’ mental well-being.
“In-person human care and interaction is critical to support student well-being,” said David Ball, Sr. Director of the Well-Being Economy Group at SecondMuse. “However, the resources and capacity don’t currently exist to meet the needs schools face. Technology-based interventions can support counselors, teachers, and schools to address student mental health at scale. The Navigator will walk education decision-makers through product procurement strategies that solve pressing issues like counselor shortages, and early intervention.”
