SecondMuse Capital, the impact-focused asset management arm of SecondMuse, has released a report from its Future Economy Lab in Asia, focusing on Financing Gender-Smart Climate Businesses in Asia, supported by Visa Foundation and AVPN.

Small businesses drive South and Southeast Asian economies, yet many, especially women-led enterprises, face barriers to financing to grow their climate solutions. To address this, SecondMuse Capital, in collaboration with Visa Foundation and AVPN, launched the Future Economy Lab in Asia. Their Summary of Findings report sheds light on the persistent financing gaps in countries like India, Indonesia and Vietnam, where women-owned enterprises struggle to secure adequate credit. As seen in India, women could only receive 5.2% of public sector credit and less than 0.5% of venture capital.

The Future Economy Lab aims to bridge these gaps by developing innovative financing mechanisms, leveraging blended finance, and fostering collaboration among investors, governments, and support organizations. By equipping women-led businesses with the resources they need, initiatives like this can create lasting environmental and social impact across the region.
